Abstract: The article deals with the history of the foundation and development of the 19th century Tbilisi MagneticMeteorological Observatories, with a focus on the so-called Kukia observatory. Built between 1859 and 1861, it was the first building to be designed as an observatory not only in Tbilisi but also in the Caucasus. The article also traces the history of the successors of Tbilisi Magnetic-Meteorological Observatory: Karsani and Dusheti. The paper pays tribute to the medieval observatory of Tbilisi: Shahistakhti
